Trend Alert: Denim-o-logy

If there is one piece of clothing that has stood the test of trends and time, it is denim. From the flared jeans in the 70's to the classic denim jacket of the 80's, denim has been a strong staple in almost all decades of fashion . This summer our love affair with denim is at its all time peak and has found its way into everything from vests, dresses and overalls to bags and shoes.
D&G and Ralph Lauren's modern day twist on denim for their SS2010 collection had us lusting for more and more of this versatile fabric than just your good old jeans.

The best piece to get on board with the denim rage is the iconic denim jacket. Roll up the sleeves and wear an old faded version over your boyfriend jeans or over a summery dress and see your cool quotient rise like the mercury this summer.
A denim skirt or dress could be a tricky piece to accessorize. The key is to pick one in a soft worn in fabric with a loose and comfortable fit. Accessorize your dress with a pair of wedges and a floral scarf for the subtle feminine flair. Add a white shirt or loose tee to a high waist denim skirt and you are ready to rock the season in style.
This summer throw yourself into a complete denim frenzy with a double dose of denim - wear a denim shirt with your favorite jeans. This may be one of the toughest denim looks to pull of, so tread with caution and pair a lighter wash shirt with darker jeans and keep the rest of the look simple. If this is look is too risqué, opt for a full floral skirt to go with your denim shirt for a more uptown look.
Its impossible to get through summer without a pair of denim shorts. Buy them high waisted or make cut off's of your own, wear them with flip flops or go high heeled, this grungy look is the best fall back option for the blazing hot days.
Whatever be your signature style, a dash of denim is what you need to take you through the season and beyond.
